The first major milestone in the construction of Global's, our parent company’s, new headquarters has been reached, as the steel frame arrives on site and erection work begins! This marks a significant step forward in delivering the 2,000 square metre office at Inverness Campus, located within the Inverness and Cromarty Firth Green Freeport zone.
Capstone Construction, appointed as principal contractor, has worked to an accelerated programme to reach this stage. The team was mobilised on site in mid-September to establish the welfare village before progressing through a substantial package of enabling works. These early activities included earthworks, the removal of excess materials, and structural infill for both the car park and the building footprint.
With the site prepared, work then moved on to the foundations. The works comprised pad foundations for the structural street frame, reinforced concrete strip foundations for the curtain walling and façades, extensive drainage for surface water, and substructure blockwork. Completing these elements has allowed the project to meet its first key milestone ahead of schedule, with the structural frame due for full completion in early 2026, followed by the upper floor concrete decks and ground floor slab.
The new Global HQ will bring together Global’s Corporate Services Team along with fellow group companies – Global Infrastructure, Global Power Services, Arthian (who is advising on acoustics, noise, and vibration for the new HQ), Bracewell (whose award-winning lead architect, David Lawrie, designed the office), Global Highland, Chance Recruitment, and Be Personnel – under one roof.
We operate all over Scotland and in a range of trades.
